This is a very beautiful ink. It looks very deep blue when it is first applied and then it turns more teal in color. It reminds me of an old ink named Peacock Blue, which is no longer available. Unlike blue/black inks which are dead, this color is alive and vibrant.

I am using it in a very fine vintage 18k Mont Blanc 149, which was just overhauled and it has great flow. It certainly does not skip. It appears to take a bit longer to dry than my Pelikan Turquoise, which in comparison, while lighter in color is also lighter in density.

The shipping was very prompt. The price of this ink is high, but that is offset by the free shipping. If this same ink is purchased from, for example, Malasia, it is much less, but when the shipping is added, the price is about the same and the ink appears at the door much faster since our government has placed liquid restrictions on air freight, so, it is my understanding, the ink has to travel by ground.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bottled ink worth the price, March 4, 2012

The one complaint I hear from many people who haven't tried this ink and the reason most haven't tried it is becasue of the price. True it is fairly expensive compared to many other good inks but the pleasure of writing with it makes up the difference and more. Compared to other more expensive inks this seems like a bargain. I have had the pleasure of trying most of the colors in this collection and I really do like all of them but orange is my favorite color so I am naturally drawn to this color. For purposes of this review however, I will talk about the characteristics and quality that represent the whole line of colors (I have not tried the newest colors released a couple of weeks ago in the US).

One of the characteristics many fountain pen users appreciate in their inks is how well the shade. I believe these to be some of, if not, the best ink for that particular quality. I also love the fact that they are all heavily saturated, and offer unique colors. I have not... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great colour, but pricey, February 7, 2012

After J. Herbin Fountain Pen Broadleu Myosotis Bottled Ink and Namiki Refills Iroshizuku Tsuyu-Kusa Asiatic Flower Bottled Ink - N69204 I wanted something even more subtle, closer to a light purple... And this certainly is it. It seems to flow great on a Lamy Vista Fountain Pen Demonstrator, Clear Medium Nib (L12M)
